The lot
Sold for Rp 2,050,000 per kilogram at the SCAI micro-lot auction in Jakarta on 20 October 2017, a price recorded by the Indonesian World Records Museum (MURI). A single harvest yielded only around 60 kg.
Black honey keeps the most mucilage and dries the slowest, under close control. It is demanding and rare, and it is the method behind our 2017 record lot.
