Tea terraces and mountains in the Ciwidey highlands

Our story

Twenty-one years on one mountain.

What began in 2005 as an agribusiness in Ciwidey is now PT Inti Gravfarm Indonesia: an integrated coffee ecosystem from nursery to export, rooted on the slopes of Mount Patuha.

The people

A coffee farmer’s patience, a scientist’s precision.

Lucy Tedjasukmana first tasted coffee from her father’s cup as a child. Together with her husband, R. Yugian Leonardy, she turned an agricultural plot in Ciwidey into a specialty estate, working side by side with hundreds of forest farmers and teaching them, gently and personally, what makes a great cherry.

“You can’t use an iron hand. Take it easy, and have a gentle, personal approach.”

Heritage

Three centuries of Java coffee. One new standard.

Coffee has grown in West Java’s Priangan highlands since the early 1700s. We carry that heritage forward with modern processing science, from honey and black honey fermentation to lab cupping, and prove it in the cup at auctions and competitions.

Terroir

Mount Patuha, mapped.

Our coffee grows in a belt between 1,300 and 1,650 metres on the volcanic slopes of Mount Patuha, whose crater holds the turquoise lake of Kawah Putih. The contours below are drawn from real elevation data.

Forest farmers

Grown with the forest, not against it.

We work with the LMDH Tambag Guruyung forest-village community and 28 forest farmer groups. Farmers receive regular counselling on seeding, cultivation, rejuvenation, sorting and processing. Cherries that meet our standard are bought directly; when they don’t, our team shows farmers how to pick better next time.
